GONG 061–ICG wins two critical New Zealand panel agreements

Situation

The independent consulting industry is tough enough for small boutiques without a client saying sorry we can’t use you as you aren’t on our panel. Even when they invite you to apply to be on the sourcing panel, the level of paperwork, professional legal fees, and requirement for continuous large-scale PI and PL policies means most individuals can’t afford the time or investment required to get themselves accredited.

ICG has been working with and marketing to New Zealand companies and government agencies for ten years and has worked for more than half of New Zealand’s top companies. One client an insurer (one of three we regularly work with in New Zealand) recently renewed its panel arrangements, and one of the Big Five Banks just added ICG to its panel for the first time. ICG are working with or have worked with three of the other top Four banks.

Solution

Leveraging the power of the global ICG platform, thousands of independents and boutiques around the globe are accessing and using the low cost, lite-touch umbrella of the ICG global business model to serve their clients through  ICG’s panels.

For a small platform fee (charged as a % of revenues), ICG looks after all insurances, accounting, pay roll taxes, local legal requirements, workplace insurance (where required) and large scale global PI and PL policies. Our boutiques tell us that the platform fee is more than reciprocal by the higher daily rates they can charge being associated with a global top 200 brand that their individual boutiques cannot charge.

Outcome

Clients are satisfied that ICG’s policies, procedures, onboarding process, insurances (PI, PL, Workers Comp), governance model, diversity policy, gender policy, modern-slavery policy, accessibility requirements, standards and measurement (Inc quality assurance), corporate social responsibility, environmental policy, and community initiative policy are all in line with their procurement requirements and modern large scale corporate standards. These items can be individually onerous, and almost impossible for an individual boutique to manage themselves.

With ICG, individual consultants can market to a much wider group of clients knowing that the panel agreements are already in place, so they don’t need to put a lot of effort in to then face a rejection, or a mountain to climb to get their small company on a smattering of panels, when ICG is already known to most major corporates and many Government departments.
