Consultant Gig #1016–Sydney (or hybrid) Data Analyst, Student Remediation Program

This role will be central in turning complex data into actionable insight helping the remediation and assurance teams understand where errors exist, how extensive they are, and how progress toward correction is tracking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse large datasets to identify data integrity issues, trends, and error categories.
  • Quantify the number, type, and location of errors across systems and student records.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards to track remediation progress, error volumes, and closure rates.
  • Develop Excel models to support deeper analysis and scenario forecasting.
  • Provide regular reporting to governance and assurance teams on data accuracy and performance.
  • Collaborate with business, IT, and remediation teams to define data requirements and ensure alignment.
  • Contribute to the development of reconciliation and data validation processes

Skills & Experience Required

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, macros), and ideally SQL.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and completeness.
  • Experience in dashboard design and performance reporting.
  • Background in data quality, compliance, or remediation programs preferred.
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You’ll Work On

  • Identifying systemic and student-level data issues.
  • Building dashboards for remediation tracking and executive reporting.
  • Developing performance metrics for governance oversight.
  • Producing insights to guide decision-making and prioritisation.

 

Logistics

Start date & Duration: Immediate start, 6 months (with potential to extend)

Location: Sydney (or hybrid)

Rate: Daily net rates $900 – $1,000 per day (ex-GST)
