Consultant Gig #1017–Sydney (or hybrid) Communications Specialist, Student Remediation Program

We are seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to design and manage all student- and stakeholder-facing messaging across channels — including email, SMS, letters, and phone scripts.

This role is critical to ensuring that every communication is clear, accurate, and compliant, providing students with a professional, empathetic experience while ensuring the institution meets data integrity and reporting standards.

  • Develop and maintain a library of approved templates and call scripts.
  • Ensure all messaging complies with privacy, data protection, and legal standards.
  • Coordinate with operations teams to manage communication schedules and callback processes.
  • Track and report communication metrics (delivery, response, resolution).
  • Assist in the development of training and guidance for staff managing direct student contact.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience in developing clear and compliant communications within complex organisations (education, financial services, utilities, or similar).
  • Strong written communication and editing skills — able to make complex information simple.
  • Experience working with compliance, legal, or risk teams.
  • Familiarity with multi-channel communications (email, SMS, letter, call scripts).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and understanding of confidentiality requirements.
  • Ability to balance tone, professionalism, and empathy in all student or customer communications.
