They wish to elevate the group procurement function to an enterprise‑wide Strategic Procurement capability, with category-specific strategies, supplier consolidation, demand and specification challenge, and clearer operating model/accountabilities between projects, functions and procurement.
We are seeking an expert in strategic procurement who can support the following key activities:
- Enterprise-wide spend and opportunity analysis
- Development of specific strategies for selected procurement categories
- Design of operating model and governance for a strategic procurement function within the organisation
- Support for the implementation of a transition to a strategic procurement function
We are open to either an expert providing support on a full-time basis as part of the consulting project team, or alternatively providing senior oversight and subject matter expertise on a part-time basis
Skills and experience required
- Deep expertise in strategic procurement and cost reduction work, probably gained in a senior position at a Big 4 consulting group or equivalent
- Direct hands-on experience in designing and implementing best practice strategic procurement processes within a complex enterprise
- Strong data analytics capability in analysing historical procurement spend to identify opportunities
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills, with ability to develop high quality client presentations
- Strong facilitation skills and experience in leading ideation workshops
- A collaborative team-player with significant advisory and coaching expertise
Start date & Duration: Early to mid May Duration: Initially 6 weeks, with potential for significant extension beyond this.
Time commitment: Open to discussing both full time participation or a part-time advisory role on the project
Location: Sydney or Melbourne
Rate: Expert to propose rate based on their preferred model of involvement
