Consultant Gig #1010–SYD–Service Delivery Manager–3 Roles Available

These roles will be responsible for the delivery of specific initiatives. With a delivery background and ability to wear multiple hats, this role will be responsible for managing work across multiple teams including managing dependencies, risks and issues across work items. 

This will include liaising between developers, service owners, architects to ensure the service is built and delivered to the customer.

Key Deliverables:

  • Writing the user stories and tasks for a feature and runs ceremonies such as feature kick-off, daily standups and showcase.
  • Working with change owners to gather requirements, facilitate workshops, document key processes, etc
  • The specification of scope and requirements to a level that enables effective delivery of agreed changes..
  • Acting as a project manager who is responsible for the delivery of initiatives end-to-end.
  • Manages dependencies, risks and issues within the initiative and escalating as required. 
  • The provision of advice and recommendations, based on expertise and experience, to address business needs. May deal with one specialist subject area or can be wide-ranging and address strategic business issues. May also include support for the implementation of any agreed solutions. 
  • The identification, analysis, clarification and communication of the context of use in which applications will operate, and of the goals of products, systems or services. The iterative development of user/customer tasks, interaction and interfaces to meet user/customer requirements, considering the whole user / customer experience. 
  • Evaluation of systems, products or services, to assure that the stakeholder and organisational requirements have been met, required practice has been followed, and systems in use continue to meet organisational and user/customer needs. 
  • The planning and implementation of organisation-wide processes and procedures for the management of risk to the success or integrity of the business, especially those arising from the use of information technology, reduction or non-availability of energy supply or inappropriate disposal of materials, hardware or data 
  • Work closely with technology delivery counterparts to ensure delivery is aligned with architecture/platform principles to enable long-term efficiency of the platform and minimise technical debt 
  • Responsible for the elaboration of features defined by service or proposition owners

Experience and qualifications required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong experience in digital banking will be an advantage, particularly with knowledge of digital-first features. Ideally, candidates will have worked within modern banking environments and contributed to enhancing mobile app experiences.
  • Experience with digital channels strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in a Business Analysis/Functional Consultant/Product Owner role
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts. Experience working in digital-first, SaaS-based and highly agile delivery environments
  • Previous experience in a start-up or fintech environment would be desirable
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, & relationship management skills; an ability to interact at multiple levels
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven experience in requirements elicitation and prioritisation, documentation & traceability using a variety of tools
  • Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts. Experience working in digital-first, SaaS-based and highly agile delivery environments.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, & relationship management skills; an ability to interact at multiple levels
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven experience in requirements elicitation, documentation & traceability using a variety of tools
  • Requirements prioritisation
  • Competent in the use of MS Office tools and Jira and Confluence

Job-specific capabilities required:

  • Proven track record of working in a high-cadence project delivery environment.

  • Previous experience working with digital products, and understanding of digital acumen 
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of project management tools in an agile context including use of Jira and Confluence. 
  • The ability to wear multiple hats, operate outside the train tracks to get the job done. Lean in to help and support colleagues where required.  Ability to deal with ambiguity and make informed decisions without always having all of the necessary information 
  • Proven ability to work and lead people in an agile and fast paced environment

Logistics:

Start date – Timing: The aim is for all three roles to commence immediately. Duration: The initial project will run for three months, with the potential to be extended through to the end of the year and potentially transition into a permanent role. 

Location: Sydney-based with remote work flexibility

Rate: The consultant’s net rate will be $950 per day plus GST, with up to $1,000 per day plus GST available for an exceptional candidate.
