The successful candidate will oversee the commissioning process for various technical installations, ensuring all systems are fully operational, safe, and meet all customer and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, clients, and vendors to ensure the timely and successful delivery of commissioning activities. This position requires fluency in both English and Chinese to communicate effectively with local and international stakeholders.
Key Deliverables
- Lead the commissioning phase, from planning through execution and handover to operations.
- Develop and manage commissioning schedules, ensuring that milestones are met and any delays are identified and mitigated.
- Oversee the testing, installation, and commissioning of systems and infrastructure.
- Ensure all commissioning activities are completed in accordance with safety standards, quality expectations, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and third-party vendors to ensure the smooth execution of commissioning activities.
- Review technical documentation, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance during commissioning processes.
- Report on commissioning progress, highlighting any issues or risks that may impact timelines or budget.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting during commissioning to resolve any issues that arise.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and environmental policies throughout the commissioning process.
- Conduct final walkthroughs with clients and stakeholders to ensure the project meets the defined requirements.
- Provide post-commissioning support, including ongoing optimization of systems and training for operations teams.
Skills and experience required
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in commissioning management, with at least 1 project specifically working on AWS infrastructure.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of commissioning mechanical and electrical equipment and other related technical systems.
- Project Management: Proven track record of managing commissioning projects from start to finish, including resource allocation, schedule management, and risk mitigation.
- Language Proficiency: Proficient in both English and Chinese (
written and spoken) for effective communication with stakeholders and team members. - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related technical field.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar project management certification is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects or data center commissioning.
- Knowledge of local Malaysian regulatory standards for data center-related projects.
- Familiarity with project management software tools like MS Project, Primavera, or similar.

Start date: The role is required ASAP. Duration: Is it full time for the contract period (TBD, but likely 6 months)
Location: Johor, Malaysia
Rate: Daily rate commensurate with the experience of the candidate
