Consultant Gig #909–UK–Reserving Process Transformation Facilitator

The end client is a client of our global strategic partner.

Responsibilities:
  • An actuarial reserving transformation expert to review and challenge our current reserving business processes to help us with our transformational thinking, including acting as a facilitator in workshops and other forums.
  • Work with and challenge our internal team in developing a future state for our reserving business processes that will meet the objectives of our strategic transformation programme. The reserving analysis processes are the primary objective, but there are other processes to be considered as a secondary objective too
  • Focus is on the reserving/valuation, booking and reporting processes, including any ‘offline’ analysis, i.e., formal and informal processes
  • Familiarise yourself with the existing processes through documentation review and information gathering
  • Facilitate workshops, small group and individual discussions to identify process transformation (not change) opportunities
  • Propose transformative ideas and challenge the existing processes to make the process more efficient with minimal resources requirement (Target 20% less resource requirement)

  • Propose simplification of existing process and identify any activities that don’t add material value
  • Propose and test alternative approaches used by other insurers
  • Document the discussions and proposed transformations
  • Consider whether unused capabilities within existing tools, e.g., ResQ, could drive efficiencies
  • Additional activity to facilitate 2-3 reserve class redefinition workshops, applying 2 different approaches to redefine a target set of reserve classes

Skills and experience required are:

  • Can be part-qualified or qualified.
  • Large scale reserving transformation programme expertise
Logistics:

Start: The role is a 3 to 4 month project and work is likely to commence ASAP with a possibility to join the client as a FTE after the interim period ends.

Location: London / Hybrid role.

Rates: The rate to ICG applicants £900-£950 per day depending on experience.
