GONG: OCC Strategy

The Board of Directors of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC), a client of ICG that represents over 60,000 members in Central Canada, recently approved its 2020-2025 Strategic Plan, entitled The Indispensable Partner of Business, positioning the organization for sustainable growth and optimum membership value. This new plan was informed by extensive consultation with OCC membership supported by ICGers Matt Holland and Gerry Purcell of the Toronto HUB and Stephen Hewett of our London HUB.

At the heart of our new plan is an acknowledgment that membership value is not solely created through the OCC serving as the “voice of business”, its traditional mantra, and our work used the Customer Needs Solution extensively.  While the OCC’s advocacy role remains a core component of what they do, members told us that they are interested in new opportunities to engage and develop solutions to critical business issues, and access new services that help them grow and succeed.
